Six months after her brother and his longtime partner were slain in Orlando's gay nightclub massacre, Jessica Silva is re-opening the couple's beauty salon.

Juan Rivera Velazquez and partner Luis Daniel Conde died along with 47 other victims June 12 in the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history.

Silva joined other family members Thursday at a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the reopening at a new location — in south Orlando — still haunted by memories of Rivera working at his original site.

Silva says her brother always wanted to make women "feel more beautiful" and the reopening keeps his "dream alive."

On Monday, hundreds of central Florida residents are planning to join officials at a memorial marking the six-month anniversary of the attack on the Pulse nightclub.
