Spanish giants, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid players have paid their respects to the victims of the plane crash that involved Brazilian football team Chapecoense by holding a minute’s silence in their training today.

Chapecoense were involved in a plane crash in Cerro Gordo, Colombia earlier today.

The plane, which was carrying 81 people including 22 players from the team, lost contact with ground controllers around midnight and reportedly attempted a forced landing.

The sad news has shocked the world of football.

This is a similar disaster to the one Manchester United sadly had to face in the 1950s when their plane crash in Munich.
